Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent.

MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHERS

Teach concentrated subject areas of: Math, Language Arts, OR Science/Social Studies

In the role of Middle School Teacher, you will work collaboratively with instructional staff and leadership to cultivate and monitor the deliverance of a high-quality education for each and every student. Teachers create and implement a flexible classroom environment favorable to student learning and personal growth; develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines; establish positive rapport with students, staff members, and parents; and motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge to provide an effective educational foundation, in accordance with each student’s ability.

Qualifications & Competencies
The appropriate candidate for this position will have:
 Bachelor’s degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent
 Valid teaching certification for content-based instruction in grades 5-9 (as appropriate)
 Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience (may include Student Teaching)
 Command of grades/subject specific content and theoretical knowledge of learning theory.
 Understanding of, and commitment to, school community values.
 Successful results of criminal and employment background check.
 Adherence to the requirements of the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.
 Evidence of strong leadership - going above and beyond in prior teaching
 Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail
 A track record of excellent results with children at advanced levels in at-risk communities
 Strong computer skills and ability to analyze data in various applications including Excel
 Proficiency in data analysis is a plus
 Successful experience in an urban setting is a plus

Responsibilities / Duties
 Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
 Ensure classroom is clean, safe and includes student generated work on display as appropriate.
 Implement all relevant policies governing student conduct.
 Develop reasonable rules of classroom/playground behavior in accordance with school policy and guidelines,
 Maintain order in the classroom in a fair and consistent manner.
 Develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines and goals.
 Plan individual and / group learning activities designed to meet instructional objectives and students’ needs.
 Participate with other staff members in curriculum planning during designated meetings.

Terms of Employment

DEAN OF INSTRUCTION

In the role of Dean of Instruction, you will work collaboratively with instructional staff and leadership to cultivate and monitor the deliverance of a high-quality education for each and every student.

Qualifications & Competencies
The appropriate candidate for this position will have:
 A bachelor’s degree or higher
 Must be an Indiana certified teacher
 At least 5 years of successful teaching experience in the classroom
 Successful experience teaching in an urban setting
 Evidence of strong leadership - going above and beyond in prior teaching/administrative roles
 Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail
 A track record of excellent results teaching children at advanced levels in at-risk communities
 Strong computer skills and ability to analyze data in various applications including Excel
 Proficiency as a teacher coach is a plus - Excellent results in coaching teachers, providing training, conducting classroom observations, and implementing, analyzing, and helping teachers analyze and create action plans from assessments.
 Commitment to helping at-risk students prepare for and succeed in college

Responsibilities / Duties
 Creating, maintaining and monitoring an aligned curriculum and instruction system to champion the engagement and growth of teachers.
 Creating strategies used to foster shared decision making and build teacher capacity to support student learning needs in diverse and struggling learning communities.
 Coaching teachers to deliver rigorous content to students who need to make ambitious gains in academic content toward grade level mastery.
 Helping teachers to evaluate and improve instructional best practices.
 Supporting leaders and teachers to align educational content to provide a challenging curriculum.
 Guiding teachers to create targeted lesson plans that strengthen students' foundational skills and challenge higher order thinking and application.
 Facilitating the implementation of valid and reliable local and standardized assessment practices.
 Developing and delivering targeted professional development.
 Coordinating and leading Professional Learning Communities (PLC) process schoolwide.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
